How Split Works

Split processes everything locally on your device:

  • Receipt Scanning: Our AI runs entirely on your phone to read receipt text and extract items.
  • Bill Splitting: All calculations happen on your device - no server processing required.
  • Payment Links: We generate payment links that connect directly to payment platforms, bypassing our servers entirely.

Third-Party Services

Split integrates with payment platforms, but we don't control their privacy practices:

  • Payment Platforms: When you use Venmo, Apple Pay, Cash App, or other payment services, their privacy policies apply.
  • App Store: Apple's App Store may collect basic usage data according to their privacy policy.

Data Security

Since we don't collect your data, there's nothing to secure on our end. However, we implement best practices:

  • On-Device Processing: All sensitive operations happen locally on your device.
  • No Data Transmission: Your receipt photos and personal information never leave your phone.
  • Secure Payment Links: Payment links use industry-standard encryption.

Children's Privacy

Split is not intended for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you're a parent and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us.
